Technical
- Develop finished building models and drawings from general conceptual information and design notes
- Proficient in Revit in order to effectively problem solve
- Develop understanding of structural concepts and design methodology
- Start developing customized Revit tools, skills, and trouble shooting tactics
- Expand project experience outside of the norm (both in structural acumen as well as Revit capabilities)
- Continue to refine understanding of structural concepts and design methodology
- Attend technical professional development seminars
- Generate project-specific technical information with minimal guidance and supervision
- Be accountable to Designers, Project Engineers and Project Technologists for drawing package production and quality
- Suggest innovative solutions and implement where appropriate
- Coordinate RJC’s drawings with those of other disciplines
- Understand and follow company standards for CAD layers, standard details, standard notes
People Development
- Seek a mentor or more senior employees to learn from by asking questions and being curious about RJC
- Create a development plan for your personal and career growth at RJC and be accountable for self-development
- Monitor your development against action plans from EDPs
- Be accountable for technical self-development, including continuing education / professional development / etc.
- Mentor junior staff as you progress to more intermediate technologist activities
- Seek opportunities to be involved with broader groups at RJC outside of your direct job scope (Diversity, Equity and Inclusion committee, technical committees, corporate challenge, volunteer opportunities, etc.)
Business
- Communicate proactively with project technologist / engineer about timing estimates and constraints on projects
- Manage time on projects effectively and aim to gain an understanding of proper project budgeting and costs
Leadership
- Complete work independently and with high quality
- Gain awareness of RJC’s various areas of specialty expertise through networking and mentorships
- Present learnings from professional development seminars to peers
- Volunteer to present best practices to your office in various ways (e.g. lunch and learns, tech sessions, etc.)
- Take initiative to take on leadership roles in broader committee / extracurricular groups
- Complete available Diversity, Equity and Inclusion trainings and frameworks to be a more diverse leader and contribute to team-specific and RJC-wide goals
- Responsible for understanding, complying and participating in RJC’s HSE Program including completing required training, participating in hazard identification, assessment and control and informing their People Leader of any unsafe acts or conditions
