Technical
- Share knowledge and feedback clearly and concisely in field reviews or site meetings
- Assist PE/designers with input on design considerations
- Become a resource for your peers/group/office on Revit issues by becoming comfortable with advanced Revist concepts/developing complex families
- Participate in online or in-person courses/seminars dealing with tech industry, and seek opportunities to deepen technical knowledge through project experience and shadowing other subject matter experts
- Comfortable representing design team during site visits / field reviews
- Generate drafting work with limited written and verbal input from Project Engineer (nonstandard situations entail more extensive input)
- Create initial REVIT project setup with workflow documents and provide kick-off information
- Coordinate the production of drafting on projects, including checking the drafting of those supervised, assisting BIM staff in deploying project templates on specific projects, and ensure adherence to templates and standards
- Coordinate RJC’s drawings with those of other disciplines (e.g. checking the model of the architect)
- Be accountable for clarity of presentation, dimensional accuracy and co-ordination of the final product, executing the development of structural BIM models to a high Level of Detail
- Develop finished building models and drawings from general conceptual information and design notes
- Use the proper quality control guidelines on projects and takes responsibility for ensuring the requisite checks and concept reviews are performed
- BIM content development approvals for the project
People Development
- Volunteer to be a buddy for new or junior employees
- Monitor your development against action plans from performance reviews and be accountable for self development
- Develop and disseminate special expertise in software applications
- Support, coach and mentor team members to develop their skills and achieve their potential
- Develop new areas of expertise by shadowing experts/approaching others for mentorship or taking additional training/courses

Business
- Participate in consultant meetings with project team
- Develop relationships with consultants and new contacts both internally and externally through networking within RJC and industry
- Work closely with the PE to develop budgets for time
- Understand and meet the client’s needs and clearly demonstrate to the client that their needs have been met
- Communicate knowledge and ideas effectively and clearly with clients
- Maintain existing client relationships and foster emerging relationships
- Foster positive relationships with clients and other members of the design and construction team through phone calls and project meetings
- Prepare schedule, do production budget estimates for your projects
- Manage production costs (monitor, make timely adjustments as require, raise flag if problems arise; Meet production cost budgets
- Investigate, develop software improvements and upgrades, and recommend ideas and budgets for office equipment upgrades
- Participate in financial planning within team
- During development of final stages of the project, detect any deviations from initial scope and complexity, obtain further direction from Project Engineer and adjust for them, avoiding “scope creep”
- Seek further development courses and education in business management
Leadership
- Assist project team by managing project issues and communication
- Assist PE with communication on project, may represent PE during meetings
- Manage larger projects with multiple techs
- Act as a coach for junior team members and dedicate time to development
- Hold meetings with the team to establish project goals and priorities
- Manage project drafting schedules (monitor, make timely adjustments as required); deliver project on schedule; resolve priorities among your projects
- Participates in screening of potential employees as required
- Gain awareness of RJC’s various areas of specialty expertise (e.g. through networking, shadowing, mentorship, attending internal events, etc.)
- Suggest or develop new approaches to production to improve quality
- Suggest or develop new approaches to internal processes
- Suggest innovative solutions for internal or external client related work; implement when appropriate
- Address priorities and resource needs with Group Leader
- Is aware of RJC’s areas of specialty expertise
- Seek opportunities to participate in and lead the BIM liaison group to discuss standards and coordinate with the other offices
- Complete available Diversity, Equity and Inclusion trainings and frameworks to be a more diverse leader and contribute to team-specific and RJC-wide goals
- Responsible for understanding, complying and participating in RJC’s HSE Program including completing required training, participating in hazard identification, assessment and control and informing their People Leader of any unsafe acts or conditions
