Functional Knowledge
- Plan and lead the process and delivery of payroll and benefits administration to ensure directives, standards, and business commitments are fully met
- Develop and deliver proactive processes and services to streamline operations
- Provide consultative advice to Human Resources colleagues, Leaders and employees on pay and benefits provisions
- Act as a primary point of contact for Human Resources team on Payroll and Benefits related matters
- Maintain ongoing liaison with regulatory boards to ensure compliance with legislative requirements
People Development
- Share knowledge and answer questions in an encouraging manner
- Actively work at building relationships to develop a network of internal contacts
- Identify and discover meaningful ways to recognize team members
- Develop and disseminate special expertise within RJC’s existing fields through mentorship and act a constant for others to turn to
- Contribute to the development of new areas of expertise at RJC by understanding and remaining current to the market and industry
- Expand knowledge base and areas of functional knowledge through diverse experiences, training and networking
Business
- Maintain existing relationships and foster emerging cross-functional relationships
- Forecast and plan workload based on organizational needs and legislative requirements
- Review organizational payroll and benefits practices that ensure high levels of service to the business and compliance
- Monitor business satisfaction levels and ensure that they remain high
- Participate in payroll and benefits planning activities and assist in determining in budgetary activities
Leadership
- Address priorities and resource needs with Leader
- Ensure all projects under supervision are progressing on time
- Refine existing or suggest and develop new approaches to improve compliance and streamline processes
- Help others leverage payroll and benefits service offerings
- Complete available Diversity, Equity and Inclusion trainings and frameworks to be a more diverse leader and contribute to team-specific and RJC-wide goals
- Accountable for ensuring the HSE Program is communicated, understood and complied with by all levels of employees; providing employees with required training and equipment; informing employees of health and safety hazards; and ensuring continuous improvement of the overall program
